About
As you draw a Mind Map (III) in the UNDERSTAND stage of a design project, so you will have many questions about your design topic. The questions and answers page is for you to list the questions that you have, and then to use that list in your Desk Research (III) as you search for the answers to your questions.
What you need
- A4 notepad and pen.
- A computer that is connected to the internet.
- Your mind map of the UNDERSTAND stage.
How it’s done
- Using your A4 notepad, write down the heading ‘Questions and Answers’ at the top of a page.
- List each of the questions that you have from the mind map, and number them.
- You may also note down ideas or tasks in the UNDERSTAND stage.
- For example, there may be a place you would like to visit, or an event about your design topic that you would like to attend. Perhaps you are designing a Soap Box Car and you would like to attend a soap box derby to learn about them.
- As you find the answers to your questions, note them down in the same list.
- If you find information in a book or on the internet, you may attach photocopies or printouts to the same pages.
- As you work on the UNDERSTAND stage, and you come up with more questions or tasks, you may add those to the list of questions and answers.
